Celebrating Our Volunteers
Thank you to our current/past volunteers!
In 2010 we had 155 volunteers that gave 2,180 hours of their time to help APL.
The skills, expertise and commitment volunteers bring are highly valued at APL. Volunteers are important not only for the time they contribute but for their knowledge and skills, their enthusiasm and fresh points of view, which enhance the creativity and quality of service provided within the Library.
Jane McDonald has been a volunteer at Airdrie Public Library for approximately five years. Jane, who is retired, is an avid reader and volunteers at the Library because she wants to help APL to grow. She works with our Technical Services department, taping new books and getting them ready to go out on the Library's shelves.
When asked what her favourite part of volunteering at APL is, she said "I like seeing the books getting out onto the shelves and interacting with the very friendly staff." Jane calls her volunteer time at APL a "very pleasant two hours a week."
