Free information sessions on a variety of wellness topics presented by Addiction and Mental Health, Community Links, and Highland Primary Care Network. These sessions are open to everyone. RSVP is preferred and can be conducted online, by phone, or in person.
 

Self-Compassion Mindfulness Practice

December 14th, 2017
Time: 6:30- 8:00 p.m.

Description: This workshop will include Strategies that assist one in relaxation, empowerment and self-compassion meditation practice.   The facilitator will include a short guided meditation at the end of this workshop referenced from Self -Compassion Step by Step by Kristen Neff PHD.  Benefits for mindfulness practice as cited from the American Psychological Association include a hopeful strategy for alleviating depression and anxiety. Mindfulness can also assist one in replacing negative thinking with positive thinking integrating self-compassion, strong self-care tools and nonjudgment of self.

Description: Participants will learn to train your attention to create a quality of mind that is both calm and alert. This quality of mind forms the foundation for emotional intelligence/balance, enhancing well-being, decision making, and problem solving. It also provides the individual with the ability to regulate and master emotions in times of change or stress.

 

Mindful Eating
February 8, 2018

Description: Let’s improve your relationship with food by looking at thing differently. In this session you will learn some introductory steps to help you part ways with unnecessary food rules and make food fun and enjoyable again.

Time: 6:30- 8:00 p.m.

Description: In our fast-paced society, no one is immune to the effects of stress. This practical and interactive session will help you identify the sources and equip you with tools to manage stress effectively.

 

Heart Math
April 12, 2018
Time: 6:30- 8:00 p.m.

Description: Relieve stress anytime, anywhere and feel better in the moment. In this course, you will learn a simple system of tools and techniques to help you build emotional resilience, develop better problem-solving abilities, improve sleep and increase mental clarity.
