We strive to make volunteering with Airdrie Public Library a rewarding experience and it is through our volunteers that we are able to strengthen and enhance our services. 


Get ready for an incredible summer! Join our SRC volunteer team.
Youth aged 14 to 18 years (18 year olds must be attending high school in the fall) are welcome to join  our Summer Reading Club Volunteer Team and encourage a love of reading while helping with activities and crafts for school age kids. 
Our SRC theme this year is “Feed Your Passions” and each week we will have a fun filled topic to focus our crafts and books around.

Get your Summer Read on Day!
It will be the first day for Airdrie children to register for our Summer Reading Club.  In addition to a registration table, we will have fun activities for the kids, within the S.T.E.A.M. theme (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math). We’ll also have treats!  This is targeted to children entering Kindergarten through grade 6, this fall. We are anticipating 100 to 150 children through the day.

 Saturday, June 16th, 2018
Shift 1: from 9:30 to 1:00 pm - Positions available: 7
Shift 2from: 1:00 to 4:30 pm - Positions available:7
Duties: supervise a station with an activity. Some activities are drawing, science experiments, assisting with technology activities, help with treats for the kids as well count attendees and clean up.
TD Summer Reading Club
Date: SRC runs from July 2nd to August 18th . You can sign up for daily or weekly shifts in the morning or afternoon or for special events. Special events include the Airdrie Canada Day Parade on July 1; Fun Fridays; Finale Celebration and fun activities.

  • The Volunteer Coordinator will contact you within a month of receipt of application to set up an interview.
  • Together you will complete a volunteer agreement and schedule.
