Library Volunteers

Airdrie Public Library is guided and inspired by its community so it makes sense that the more community members involved in the library the more relevant our services, materials and programs are. Airdrie is very fortunate that so many people in our city believe in and value the library. It is through the generosity of our volunteers’ time, efforts and skills that we are able to extend and enhance everything we do.

Our volunteers include teens, adults, families, seniors and employee groups from backgrounds as diverse as our community is. Our Board of Directors are all volunteers as are our friends of the library group, the Advocates for Airdrie Public Library. As diverse as they are, our volunteers have a common passion and commitment to literacy, life-long learning, and the value the library provides to our city.

Our volunteers helped us with:

Events and Fundraising – Airdrie Day with Calgary Hitmen, Airdrie Mayor's Night of the Arts, Airdriefest, Author Series, Canada Day BBQ, Coffee with the Candidates, Comic Book Day, Davis Ball Hockey Tournament, Dust Off the Clubs Golf Tournament, Family Nights, Free Your Voice Open Mic Night, Harry Potter Day, Home & Lifestyle Show, Paint Nights, Seniors Cribbage Tournament, Sobeys BBQ, Star Wars Reads Day, Stuffies Meet Santa and Stuffy Sleepover.

Collections – arranging Books for Babies packages, hanging Artwork, mending, processing of new materials and shelving of materials.

Program materials - cutting bookmarks, folding brochures and preforming craft projects.

Programs – Art Classes, Bedtime Storytime, Creative Hands & Minds, Lego Club, Listening Tales, Makerspaces, Minecraft, Reading Buddies, Stuffy Drive-In, Summer Reading Program, Teen Advisory Council and Tween Zone.

Thanks to our Volunteers for making Airdrie Public Library a great place for everyone!
