Adopt-a-Book Program

November 23 to December 12

If you're looking for a unique way to show your Christmas spirit, consider giving a gift that can be opened again and again. Every Christmas season the Library gives patrons a chance to “adopt” a book. Patrons choose a book from the available selection, and purchase it on behalf of the Library.

A name-plate with the patron’s name is placed in the book, and adopters take the book home for the first read. This event has become a wonderful Christmas tradition at APL, allowing the Library to increase its collection with the help of our patrons. Tax receipts will be issued.

Check out the what books are up for adoption on our special LibraryThing list. Titles that have been adopted already are indicated. Adoptions are happening quickly so pop by soon!

(NOTE:  Clicking on a book from within LibraryThing will lead you to Amazon.ca. Of course, we want you to come adopt the book for APL so we hope you'll make your visit to Amazon a short one!)
