APL is hosting the TD Summer Reading Club (SRC)! Get ready for an incredible summer of reading, activities, and prizes with the SRC – Canada’s biggest summer reading program for kids! This 100% FREE program celebrates Canadian authors, illustrators and stories designed to inspire kids to explore the fun of reading! Our reading program is for children ages 5 through 12, but we also have a great volunteer program for those entering grades 7-8.

This year’s theme is Legends & Myths!

The summer Reading Club Kicks Off with a Party

  • Date: Saturday, June 25th, 2022
  • Time: 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
  • Description: Join us for a day to kick start the SRC! Drop in for crafts, activities, snacks, prizes, bingo, and loads of FUN!

Summer Reading Club’s Legends, and Myths Weekly Themes:

August 13, 2022 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.

The Airdrie Public Library is hosting a finale event and is inviting all those who participated in the summer reading club and their families to join us for games, movies, and activities. This event will include a bubble making station, short movies, balloon animals, arcade games, and crafts. Snacks will be provided.

Week 1: July 4th – July 8th

Monster/strange creatures

Week 2: July 11th – July 15th

Egyptian mythology: The shipwrecked sailor

Week 3: July 18th – July 22nd

Norse mythology: The adventures of Thor

Week 4: July 25th - July 29th

Mermaids/sirens

Week 5: Aug 1st – Aug 5th

The great race: the story of the Chinese zodiac

Week 6: Aug 8th – Aug 12th

Greek mythology 

Choose only one session per child per grade.

Ways to participate in the Summer Reading Club:

1. Registered Participants: Want to guarantee your child a spot in the program? Then, register! Register for the grade child is entering in fall of 2022. Registration ensures your child has a space in the program for the entire summer.  You can register online, or at the library. Be sure to pick up the reading package if you sign up online!

2. Read-on-your-own Participants: Are you heading out of town for the summer or busy with other activities, but still want to track your reading and win great prizes? Register at the library and pick up your reading log.

  • Every week on Monday ends on August 8, 2022, 9:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.
  • Every week on Tuesday ends on August 9, 2022, 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
  • Every week on Wednesday ends on August 10, 2022, 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.
