Airdrie Public Library, in partnership with North Rocky View Community Links, is proud to offer a selection of preschool literacy programs.

Registered Programs:

Mondays—9:30 and 10:30 a.m. Fridays- 9:30 and 10:30 a.m.. In the Program Room. Designed for preschoolers aged 1 -3, who need to move and actively participate. This program focuses on simple action songs, finger plays, use of simple props, and short stories. No programs on the Thanksgiving Monday October 14.


Mondays—11:30 a.m.; Fridays—11:30 a.m. Songs, bounces, tickling rhymes, finger plays and stories for babies birth to 12 months and their caregivers.

Sensory Storytime:

Mondays: 1:00-2:00 p.m. Designed for children aged 3-10 with Autism or other developmental differences. This program is an interactive experience featuring songs, rhymes, stories and sensory play opportunity for children and their caregivers.

Wiggle Wednesday:

Second Wednesday of each month—9:15-10:15 a.m. In partnership with Ambition Performing Arts, and designed for children aged 2-5. This program combines storytime, movement, and dance. (September 12. October 9, November 13, December 11)


Sensory Storytime - Mondays: 1:00-2:00 p.m.

Wiggle Wednesday - Second Wednesday of each month—9:15-10:15 a.m.

Rhymes & Songs:

Mondays- 9:45-10:15; Tuesdays- 11:00-11:30 a.m.; Wednesday- 9:45-10:15 Thursday- 11:00-11:30 a.m. in the Children’s Area.This fun-filled half hour of finger plays, rhymes, simple stories and songs is aimed at children from birth to 5 and their caregivers.

Sing, Read, Rhyme and Play:

Tuesdays- 11:00-11:45. In the Program Room. This 45 minute program includes songs, rhymes, stories, and a wonderful opportunity for children to build social skills. Little ones will learn through play as they explore and enjoy our popular play carts and more. For children Birth-to age 5 and their caregivers.

Creative Hands and Minds:

Tuesdays: 1:00-1:45 p.m. and Thursdays 9:30-10:15 a.m. in the Program Room. Designed for children aged 3-5. This program features stories, songs, rhymes and a craft for children and their caregivers to share. Space is limited: Please Pick up a ticket at the Information Desk

Night Owls:

Tuesdays—6:15-7:00 p.m. In the Program Room. Children ages 2+ are invited to get ready for bed with activities chosen specially for bedtime. Pillow, stuffed toys and jammies are welcome. We will dim the lights and cozy in for an hour of soothing rhymes and songs, finger plays stories and craft. Space is limited: Please Pick up a ticket at the Information Desk.

A League of Super Dads:

Saturday 11:15a.m.-12:00 p.m. In the Program Room. Designed for children ages 0- 5 welcome.

Calling all Dads, Grandads, Uncles, and other male caregivers! It's adventure time for you and your child. This is a great opportunity to meet other dads and to have fun with your children. Explore the early literacy skills in each storytime. Please Pick up a ticket at the Information Desk.


Family Storytime:

Saturday 10:15-10:45a.m. In the Children’s Area. This program is for children of all ages and their caregivers. Join us for fun stories and songs for the whole family! Help imaginations grow and build a love of reading.

Snowflake Follies:

Discover a winter wonderland at APL. Join us for a magical SNOWY holiday celebration, Saturday, December 14, 10:00-12:00 p.m. 

Pumpkin Palooza:

A fun pumpkin packed family event. Bring your Jack-o-lantern for our glowing pumpkin parade. We’ll have Pumpkin and Halloween themed stories, activities, crafts and treats.
