Airdrie Public Library is part of the regional Marigold Library System. Established in March 1981 under the Libraries Act of Alberta, Marigold is a cooperative network of public libraries which service 42 municipalities in south-central Alberta. Marigold provides a means for independent libraries to work together in order to maximize value and minimize costs.

As a member of the Marigold Library System, Airdrie Public Library is able to increase and improve its collection by combining its holdings with that of over 175 other public libraries in the province. Nearly 3.3 million books, CDs, DVDs, and other materials can be found in The Regional Automated Consortium catalogue (TRACpac). Airdrie Public Library members are able to reserve items in the catalogue from other libraries, as well as use other member libraries in-person.
